Lowcountry Inshore Slam

So turns out, I'm back in Beaufort, spending a few weeks with the family.
Trying to enjoy the last few weeks of this lovely warm weather.
Being out on the river is something that I need, I long for, I have saltwater in my blood... being away from it really hurts, it's just depressing.
So being here, right now, is just reviving me!
Since I've been here, I have gone out on the river, swimming on private beaches, fishing inshore, fishing the channels..  I love fishing. The one fish I have yet caught, is a southern favorite, it's known as the Red Fish, Red Drum, or Spot Tail Bass. My brother has taken me out a handful of times, but I never seem to catch that fish. But today I finally hooked my first one! It was small, but it meant so much, size doesn't matter in this case! After releasing it, a few minutes later I hooked up with this big beauty below! It was gorgeous! I couldn't believe my eyes when I hooked it! It was fun reeling it in! When I got it on the platform of the boat, I was all smiles! The feeling of catching a Red Fish is like no other, the adrenaline is crazy, you just don't want to stop hooking them. Releasing that beauty, was one of the best feelings, I hope that others will have the same experience as I did. I also caught a little Flounder. All I needed to hook was a Trout, and it would have been an inshore slam all in one day!
My brother on the other hand hooked a good size Trout, it was slightly purple, with tons of spots, such a beautiful fish.
Today was such an amazing day, I am so grateful to have caught these fish, spend time with my brother, be out on the saltwater, and watch the Carolina sun set.

Sunday Funday

Over the weekend, my boyfriend, my dog, and I decided to get out and enjoy this amazing weather we've been having here in Pennsylvania. We got on the road and headed towards Ricketts Glen State Park. It's a gorgeous park with lots to do; you can hike, swim, fish, relax, bike ride, have a picnic, do whatever, it's just a really nice park. But it does get packed in the summer, so the best thing to do to avoid people is go on the long hike, I'm talking a 7.5 mile if not more, hike! This hike is beautiful, there are 22 waterfalls. There aren't many people on the hike just because it takes a lot of body and skill to complete the whole thing, one second your walking down slippery stone steps, the next your climbing up big rocks... let me just say, I busted my ass, along with the dog. It was nice, every few steps we'd stop and let Max play in the stream pools, I got my feet wet, but it was chilly! There were quite a few dogs on the hike, some were little dogs being carried by their owners that looked as if they were going to pass out... like I said, it's a long, hard, skilled hike, please don't attempt the whole thing if you are not in shape! It's a great hike, just make sure if your going on a hike longer then 2 and half hours, bring an Apple, or some Almonds to keep ya going, water is a must, too!
It always feels great to get out on the weekends!

Girls gone wild..

You know where I wish I was right now?
The beach, that's where!
Getting my tan on while in my new hot bikini, possibly sipping on some Blood Orange Sparkling Water, while catching up on the latest magazines!

Lazy kinda day

It's quite a foggy morning,
the air is warm, but the light breeze makes for a good chill..

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Kinda makes me wish I back in bed, all cuddled up, with a good book.

Somewhere Sunday

I really dislike spending my Sunday's inside, so I decided to spend my Sunday out at The Sands in Port Royal with my fun brother, and our pup, Max. It was rather cold when we left the house, but at soon as we got to The Sands, the wind stopped blowing, it was perfect! It was nice walking on the beach, looking for Sharks teeth, and other shells. It was low tide, which meant we could look underneath all the oysters for teeth. My brother wanted to have a competition on who found the most teeth, I let him win. Even though I did find the biggest! There were other dogs out on the beach, running around, jumping in the ice cold water.
It was so very peaceful, watching the dogs run around, people feed the Seagulls, boats drive by, people searching for shells..
We took a walk on the boardwalk, up the pier, and watched the sunset. The river was calm, not a ripple in sight. We watched all the Seagulls, Pelicans, and Herons disappear into the night sky. Instead of going back on the boardwalk, we decided to through the marsh trail. You could hear all the little crabs scatter across the ground, hiding in their little holes beneath the marsh grass. The night sky was so beautiful. I'm so glad I got to spend it with my brother, he is growing up too fast, and I want to spend as much time with him as I can, and same goes for Max, you can never spend too much time with your pup!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
I sure did!

You wont believe your eyes...

When I got home earlier today, my father asked, "did you see what your brother caught earlier when we went fishing"? I'm thinking, a Flounder, Shark, maybe a Toad Fish.. man was I wrong! My brother walks in the living room, holding his camera, and sits next to me. I grab his camera, to see just what he caught, and I immediately had to take a double take... He caught an Octopus? Are you kidding me? How? .. Then I started asking all the 'other' questions, like how did it feel, was it big, how did it smell, was it cute, did it bite, did it suction-cup your hand, did it try to eat you? I mean this is (I'm going to use one of my brothers famous words).... EPIC! When do you ever hear of people, none the less my own brother, catching this amazing creatures of the sea?.. They don't seem as excited as me, but I think it's pretty awesome! It's a good thing I didn't go with them earlier, or I would have been coming home with the cute little Octopus, squeezin' him, and lovin' on him, until he squirted ink on me, then he'd have to go! (And yes, he did squirt ink out when they tossed him back in the water). How cool!

So the question of the day is... have you ever caught an Octopus? Or maybe some other strange creature of the sea?

Revenge

For the past few months I have been so excited to watch this new show!
It looks so great, who doesn't want to watch the Hampton lifestyle; the houses, people, outfits, scenery, parties, and the Revenge. The first show (which aired last night at 10 pm.), had me at the begining! The main character, Emily VanCamp, who plays Emily Thorne, ( aka. Amanda), is beautiful, and I am in love with all of her outfits that she had on in the first episode... but her being beautiful doesn't mean she is all sweet! Same for Madeline Snow, who plays Victoria, the woman is looking great for her age (yes, i'm sure she's had some face work done, but who hasn't in Hollywood). She is gorgeous, but her character is so evil, and decieving! It was sad to see Amber Valletta leave the show, that's one of the reasons why I wanted to watch it. I can't wait for the next show, which aires on Wednesday at 10pm.! "This show had me in the beginning and I can't wait to watch it unfold!"

This is what people are saying about the show:

"Finally! I waited all summer for this show to start!! So far.. like it.. just can't wait to see what happens next! :) "

"Scared to like this even though it is good. ABC is known for canceling the good ones."

"2 WORDS - I'M HOOKED!!! THIS SHOWS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME! BRAVO EMILY VANCAMP! BRAVO!!!"

"A new favorite and definately going to keep watching!"

"Great Show!! loved it!! Didn't want it to end!"

Florida Trip!

Hey girls and possibly boys, I know it's been awhile since I have posted anything, but that's because my boyfriend flew in from PA, and we both took a trip to Florida for a few days. My boyfriend has never ever been to Florida, but yet he says he wants to live there, so I had to show him just how great it is!

On the way down we stopped in Palm Coast, at my favorite Publix, to get some sushi. Driving through Daytona, my boyfriend was nothing but smiles when he saw Harley Davidson Shop, we stopped in there, he got an expensive shirt, we took some pictures, then it was off to the highway. We ended the day driving into Hard Rock Hotel, that's right, I surprised him with a two night stay there! The next day we went to Universal, and Islands of Adventure, (Corey has those pictures on his camera), note to self: the park is still packed during September with lots of tourist! After a long day of walking, we went to Loews Portofinio Bay Hotel, to Mama Dellas to eat some real Italian Food. It was nice, but don't plan on visiting there, unless you have some extra $$$. After dinner, we went and took pictures around the hotel, and managed to find some Ducks, so we sat and watched them for a good half an hour, then headed back to our hotel.
The next day we ventured off to Blue Springs, it's $6 to get into the State Park. We attempted to go swimming, we put on our snorkeling gear, and headed down the stairs into the 72 degree water, let's just say it was nippy! I only swam for maybe ten mins, by the time I was done, Corey was on his last stair getting into the water! So after that, we walked all the board walks, and ended up at the St.John River. We saw tons of fish, Turtles, Birds, but no Alligators nor Manatees..
After that, we headed back to Daytona, and ended up staying at the Hilton on the beach! Our view from our window was amazing! Even our room was nice! The first thing we did, was went swimming! Even the pool there was nippy! Later on that night, I took Corey to Bubba Gumps Restaurant, ordered the amazing Hush Pups, some drinks, and some food. After we were done filling our bellies, we walked the beach. Then went back to our hotel and got a quick dip in the hot tub! The next day we took A1A North, and went through Ormond Beach, St.Augustine, Jacksonville, and ended up eating at Joe's Crab Shack, after lunch, we walked the beach it was nice, and relaxing. It was such a great trip; I am so glad I finally got to take Corey there! We did so many fun things, it might have costed us, but in the end, it was all definitely worth it!
