Happy Halloween

It's Halloween, are you getting ready for the festivities that will take place tonight?
I am. Candy? Check! Pumpkins? Check! Monsters? Check!
This is my first year giving candy, I hope we actually get some little ones, or big ones, I just want to hand out some treats!
 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Last night the boyfriend and I carved pumpkins for the first time together.
Of course his pumpkin was 60 lbs, and it was a little too thick to carve, but he managed and did a great job, (his pumpkin is the bigger one).
I decided to go with a happy pumpkin.
If it were up to me, I'd carve ten pumpkins, I love carving them!
One of these years, I'm going to have a carving party! How fun would that be? Dress up, eat spooky food, play games, watch scary movies, and carve away!

I hope everyone has a fun Halloween!

What are you getting into tonight?

Let's fall for porches

I am loving all these fall porches I'm seeing!
People here. (in Pennsylvania), really get into it, which I love.
It makes this time of year even better!
A lot of people around here are using corn stalks, pumpkins of all kinds, hay, leaves, mums of every color... it's all so perfect.
As of right now, I went with a scary porch, spider webbing, rats crawling up the columns, skeletons and ghouls hanging..
But for Thanksgiving, I will make it more fall-ish.
(The back porch on the other hand has pumpkins, mums, and gourds, so I do get to see a little fall).
I really like these porches, one of these years, I'm going to have the perfect fall porch!
Just you wait and see!

Is your porch decorated for fall? Or is it more like mine, where it's scary?

Easter!

Happy Easter!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
I spent my day getting an Easter basket (with lot's of tasty treats), dying, glittering, and painting eggs with my mum and my doggie Max, I ate tons of tasty food such as Potato Salad, Asparagus, Fresh String Beans with Portabella Mushrooms, we had some type of meat (but as you know I'm a vegetarian, so I just stuck with the tasty sides).
After eating all that food, I was in a food coma, literally! All I wanted to do was pass out!
But you know what I did instead of being lazy???
I went and worked out with my mum, a long two hour work out! Hey I had to work off all that Potato Salad!
It was such a great holiday, not only was it beautiful here, but I got to spend it with people and animals I love!

How was your Easter?
What all did you do?
What all did you eat?

Nothing like a Good Friday breakfast sandwich

Wanna know how to celebrate Good Friday the right way?
Start it off with a sunny side egg, add some Turkey Bacon, some smashed Avocado with a hint if Lime, and top it off with crisp Asparagus all on a thin Everything Bagel!

Mmm mmm good!

Ingredients

1/2 pound green white and/or purple asparagus trimmed
1 avocado halved seeded peeled and chopped
1 teaspoon lime juice
2 tablespoons butter
4 eggs
8 slice white wheat or brioche bread (Or a thing Everything Bagel).
8 slice crisp-cooked bacon
Salt and pepper to taste

1. Place asparagus in a single layer in a shallow baking pan. Cover with about 2 cups of boiling water. Let stand for 10 to 12 minutes, until bright green and crisp-tender. Drain. Finely chop three of the asparagus spears; set aside.
2. In a small bowl mash avocado with lime juice. Stir in chopped asparagus; set aside.
3. In a large skillet melt butter over medium heat. Break eggs into skillet. Lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cook eggs for 6 minutes, until whites are completely set and yolks begin to thicken. If desired, turn eggs, to fully cook the yolks.
4. Meanwhile, toast the bread. Spread avocado-asparagus on four slices. Lightly sprinkle with salt. Layer bacon, egg, asparagus, and remaining bread.

And there you have it!

What do you have in store for this Good Friday?
Relaxing, Cooking, Spending time with family and friends, Getting ready for Easter,
maybe doing a little Shopping?

Time to get that party dress on

I would love to pick one of the three dresses above for New Years Eve, but unfortunately Free People no longer has those styles..
Soo I had to make due with what they did have, and I'm really liking the choices!
I'm not really big on the color 'black', that was usually my safe color a few years ago, and when I look back on those few years ago, I hated seeing that one color (all the time).
Lately, I have been wearing a lot of cremes and neutral colors, which I love, it's so girly, and oh la la!
I do have three dresses hidden in my closet for those special times, such as New Years Eve, and I am so ready to bring them out!
Of course they don't look nearly as fun as the dresses below, but I'll make due with what I do have (and save some money)!

Do you have a New Years Eve dress picked out?

Halloween Time!

Okay is it me, or has October flown by....
I feel like I haven't even been able to celebrate this fun, thrilling, scary, month at all..
What the hell have I been doing with my life..
Well luckily tonight, I'll be getting into this creepy holiday by carving pumpkins with one of my friends; who surprised me with two pumpkins late last night by leaving them on my porch! How sweet is that!
I think I'm going to set the computer up out on the porch so we can watch scary movies while we carve! And I'm going to make some fun drinks!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Wanna know how to make them?
All you need is:
7up (liter)
Sour Gummy Worms
Sherbet Ice Cream (any flav. will do)
Scoop the Sherbet Ice Cream into a cup, add a few worms, and pour in the 7up, and ta da, you have yourself a creepy crawly fun drink!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Anyways I was wondering what scary movie I should play..
Hocus Pocus?
Sleepy Hollow?
Halloween?
Scream?
Texas Chainsaw Massacre?
Or
Jeepers Creepers?

What's your favorite scary movie to watch?

Only a few more days till Halloween!
What do you plan on doing for this fun Halloween Weekend?
Are you dressing up? Going to Halloween Parties? Playing it cool and watching movies? Carving Pumpkins? Eating candy, maybe stealing your kids candy? Toilet papering your neighbors?
Ooooo there is just so much to do!

DIY Halloween Pumpkin Jar Candle Holders

Halloween is my all-time favorite holiday!
I love doing creepy, fun, easy crafts for the spooky occasion!
This is the first Halloween / fall craft of the season-
They are called Fright Lights; the idea came from Family Circle Magazine.
In the magazine it says you need all these different materials.. I don't have time to go out and get all the stuff it calls for, so I had to make do with what I had around the house. The one thing I surprisingly had to buy, was black and orange tissue paper, (usually my mum has tons of different colored tissue paper, but for some reason she didn't have those two colors). Thankfully Target has them each (20 sheets for under $1.99).

Anyways, here's the materials I used:
-Black tissue paper
-Orange tissue paper
-Pencil
-Plastic or glass bowl
-Elmer's Glue
-Paint brush or 1" foam brush
-Scissors
-three or more Glass Jars (mason jars, pickle jars, olive jars, sauce jars..etc).
-And some water
-Candles

First Step: Once the jars are clean, you are going to cut Orange tissue paper into 1 1/2 wide strips as long as the jar.
Second Step: Take a glob of Elmer's Glue, and a little bit of water, mix with paintbrush until it's watered down. Brush the glue on to the jar.
Step Three: Add strips of Orange tissue paper onto the jar, overlapping the paper is perfectly fine.
Step Four: Brush glue over the Orange tisse paper; let it dry for a few hours.
Step Five: Once the paper is dry, you can cut out faces or letters that you are going to add on your jar using a pencil and Black tissue paper.
Step Six: Glue on Black tissue paper (faces, letters, etc) on to the jar. Brush the glue on all of the Black tissue paper, let the paper dry, add candles in the jars, and ta da!

"I rather have flowers on my table, then Pearls around my neck.." ♥

You know what I love,
is when my father walks in from work,
...with an armful of gorgeous white Roses for my mother,
isn't that so sweet?

I really like how my family does Holidays. Why celebrate being in love on Valentines Day? Why get flowers then, and not a few days before? Why not wait a few days after to celebrate, and get all your candy half off? .. In my family, we like to change it up. And this time, my dad wanted my mum to enjoy her flowers over the weekend. I like that cause this year it falls on a Monday, and you can't really do much on a Monday.. so we are doing everything over the weekend.. it's a weekend for loveeee!

Oh by the way, he also got her other flowers other then Roses..
...awwww!

"But I have to admit, it felt good on my lips.. " -Tim McGraw ♥

Here are some
Sweet little treats for you and your Valentine..

Let's catch up..

Hello my beautiful people-
Well I'm back from the mountains.. it was quite an experience. I haven't been to the mountains with my family in about seven or eight years, so I was happy about going, especially for New Years. When we got there around 9 at night, there was snow every where! (I love love love snow, so that right there made me happy). When you get into the park you have to drive around a lake, and drive across a stream. Well they had the bridge to the stream lit up with beautiful Christmas lights. My mum, brother, and I walked around the park late at night.. played in the snow, took pictures, saw a few snowmen.. it was really nice. Anyways, we stayed at Vogel State Park, cabin 7. We usually stay at lucky cabin number 20, but all the cabins were booked for the New Year, thankfully we got cabin seven. It was up on a little hill, overlooking some of the park. It was a cute little place. It has one bedroom, and two full size beds in the living room, it has a kitchen, a dining room table, and a really small bathroom, and let's not forget the big fire place it has, with two rocking chairs.

The next day we ventured out to the town of Dahlonega GA., it is such a cute little mountain town! We went into a few stores, and one of the stores I got a Rabbit Foot, I know that sounds kinda gross but when I was younger, every time I went to that store, I bought one.. they are just lucky to me! So I got one; it's on my camera bag right now. After we went shopping there, we drove to Helen GA. , man has that place changed! It's kinda scary, with tattoo places, and lot's of people.. it was just a tourist trap! But we went to Betty's, which is a cute little grocery store nestled in the town. It has a candy shop, which I love! I of course, I bought some Rock Candy. We grabbed some goodies, and then made our way back to the cabin. We thought about eating at the cabin, but it seemed like too much work, so we went to this BBQ Restaurant with the most gorgeous art inside! They had some pretty tasty food. After that we went back to the cabin. Well, I ended up falling asleep.. I told my mom to wake me a few mins before it turned twelve. Well, I woke up three mins after it turned twelve! (The clock at the cabin was three mins behind!) Oh well.. I don't know if that's a good way to spend the first few mins of the year, but there's nothing I can do about it! Ha ha, maybe this will be a slooow year..

The next day my brother got sick, and we went to Wal-Mart, found a Redbox -which is a box your can order movies from for $1- rented three, got some medicine, and some ice cream, headed back to the cabin and watched movies and ate ice cream all night. The next day we packed the truck, but before we left, we walked around the lake.. and walked down to the waterfall. It was soo beautiful! The mountains had fog running through them, and the view from the lake was just amazing! God definitely creates some beautiful things.. after the walk we headed back home. That's how I spent my weekend, it wasn't really how I planned it, but I am glad I went and spent time with my family. How was your New Years? I hope all of you had a great holiday, and I wish you all a great Year!
