Spring Break in Panama Beach

Spring Break 2012

I went on my Spring Break a few weeks ago to Panama Beach, FL.
Three friends of mine, and myself, went.
It wasn't like MTV, but it was a great time!
We were there for three days, we spent our days out on the beach, with a cold drink in our hand. At the pool, relaxing. Meeting people, most people were from Michigan, Ohio, or Tennessee. Our hotel, Seahaven, was like a college dorm, It was fun while it lasted, but next time I'm staying at the Hilton. (I can't take loud music playing until 6 a.m.! Thankfully our AC was really, really loud to block out some noise). We ate at some tasty places, hello Buffalo Shrimp, and Tuna Dip with chips. We went to Happy Hour two times in one day, our bartenders were quite amusing, I miss them. One of my friends and myself hitch hiked to the liquor store, oh yeah, did I mention we got picked up by guys on Mopeds.. that was a fun ten minute ride, it sucked that we had to walk all the way back carrying liquor though. We went to free bars, who would spend a $25 cover charge? The local free bars are way more fun then ones you have to 'pay for just to get into'. I got to dance with a really old guy, but damn did he have some good ol' country swinging moves! I got to shop like a tourist, but the only thing I bought was postcards, that's a lie, I bought my new bag down there. We went down there with tons of alcohol, and even bought some more, but the day we were leaving there seemed to be lots of alcohol that hadn't been touched.. I guess that's how you know we are getting older, we only have a few drinks, instead of the whole bottle! I got to wake up early and walk the beach alone, I sat in the sand and watched the surfers, then along came a storm, a very big storm, it was such a great time to take pictures! We sat in the back of a truck and rode the strip, turns out the guys driving were as old as my little brother! (There were tons of under age kids). But the best part of Panama was riding on a free bus and not going to any bars, instead we just hung out with the driver, we loved you Jarrod, thank you so much for making our night!
Being down there was such a fun time!
I'm so glad I got to go with my girls!
I usually spend Spring Break relaxing, or working, so I needed to experience this, especially Panama Beach!

Farewell Panama,
 next time I come,
it was be in the fall,
when you aren't invested with youngsters, drunks, and loud people!

Take me to Fernandina

I love road trips as you all know.
On yesterday's day trip, we (my family and myself), drove three hours away to Fernandina Beach, Florida. On the way we stopped at a Farmer's Marker in Yulee, grabbed some Green Boiled Peanuts. We drove through downtown Fernandina, which is always so pleasant to drive through, there are so many cute shops and they are always decorated so nicely! We stopped at the Marina, and took pictures of the Shrimp Boats. Then it was off to the beach. It was too cold to get out, so we just ventured down A1A; which drives along the beach, then hopped on a Ferry (which crossed the St. John's River) the ferry was only $5, it was soo worth it! After taking a million pictures on the ferry, it was time to grab some dinner. We went to Singleton's. As we walked in the restaurant, that was pretty much a shack, we noticed it was going to be awhile before we sat down! ---It was soo packed! When we finally sat down, it took twenty minutes to get our drinks, and nearly forty minutes to get our food. Let's not forget, the waitress was utterly rude to my dad, and got out order completely wrong! The food wasn't bad, I ordered Clam Chowder (Best in Jacksonville supposedly), and a Mahi Sandwich, my dad got the same thing as me along with some Hush Puppies, my brother ordered the Crab Burger and Conch Fritter's (which he never got, cause our waitress was a bit retarded), and my mum ordered a Salad, Turnips Greens, Black Beans and Rice.
After that it was time to head back home, it was a long three hour drive back,
but it was definitely worth it!

Gobble Gobble Recap

Hey guys! I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!
As you all know, I went down to Orlando Florida with my family, to have Thanksgiving with all my other family. (Let me just add, we haven't had all the family together since 2001 and that was for Christmas! Yes, we are a strange family!)
On Thanksgiving day it was a rush to get everything done, my mum was getting Deviled Eggs done, along with Stuffing, the Turkey, and other sides. I was trying to get the Green Beans cut, and get the Pierogies Stuffed with Sauerkraut. My other Aunt and Uncle, (who lives next door), was in charge of making the Corn, Macaroni and Cheese, and Brussel Sprouts, along with some deserts.
At first we were going to have it at my Uncles house, then we were going to have it at my Aunt's house; who lives next door, and finally we just agreed to have it at my Grandparents house! So here we all are rushing to get food over to the Grandparents house. We were supposed to all meet around 1:30, then 2:00, then finally we got there around 4! As soon as we got there, it was time to set the tables, put all the food out, and get everybody seated! All the food looked delicious, but the alcohol looked even better! So there we all were making drinks and having a great time with our 'fun' family.
It was so nice to see everyone all in the same place! I hope we can make it happen more often, it's always great to see family!

Yes, we are a silly bunch!
How was your Thanksgiving?
Did you have a great time with Family and Friends?
