Pretty find of the day..

See these lovelies below?
I bought seven of them for only $1
Oh how I love a good deal...

Glass drawer pulls go with anything and everything.
I love how you can make a single piece of furniture romantic just by adding a glass drawer pull. Or you can add them to an old rustic kitchen for an instant pick me up. You can even leave them on a tray as a display, maybe with some pretty flowers.
I'm going to add my drawer pulls to a built in cabinet in my bathroom, I cannot wait to see how they are going to look!
How do you feel about glass drawer pulls?

a long way from Egypt..

Have you ever saw something, that you had to have, but you didn't really know why?
Well I actually came across something at a Thrift Store, that I just had to have.. know idea why.
In my mind, I think I picked this up while I was in Egypt, but yet, I have never been there.
(I will one day travel there, and maybe they will be selling these little carvings on the side of the road).
Maybe it's a sign, that I will be going to Egypt soon?
Who knows.
All I know is it was only $1.91,
 and that's just a deal I couldn't pass up!

Do you have any odd things lingering around,
that don't match or go with anything,
but yet, you had to have it?

Yard Sale Saturday

YARD SALES

Today was a really good day for yard sales!
(Where as last weekend, was not! Note: never go to yard sales on Easter weekend). This week there had to be around twenty that we went to, some of them my mum and I drove past and were like "ehhh, no". But we did go to a lot of them, and we did find some pretty good stuff.
The most expensive thing we bought, was a piece of art, (the one with the houses, and boat) that was $15 handmade by this carpenter. And I have to say the best deal is the piece of window art that was only $5! The guy did say ten dollars, but we didn't want it that bad, then as we were about to walk away, he said take it for $5! And so we did! He told us he got it a Consignment Shop for $120, but I know here in the South, window art is not cheap, they usually run between $300-$1,200! Let's just say, we got it for a deal! The cheapest item, was  little Vintage Sheep, it was only .10 cents! My mum loves vintage stuff, so she was pretty excited to find that! My favorite item is the blender I got, it was only $6, and it works great! I also got three long sleeve button-down shirts, Ralph Lauren, J Crew, and some other brand for $1 (for all three)! I also got some work out pants, that were both a $1, (if you work out, you know work out pants are pretty pricey!). Max, my dog, pretty much got a deal! He got a Basketball for .50 cents, a rag Toy for .25 cents, and three free Tennis Balls. (I think he liked his Rag Toy the best). I believe we got a few other items, but I didn't want to post everything, just the really good finds!
I hope you enjoy!

Treasure of the week

This is Honey Bear, he is an old cast iron bank, isn't he just adorable!
He is the treasure of the week!
I came across him at Goodwill. As they brought a cart out full of stuff, I walked over and started scoping all the stuff out, I moved around some bags, and underneath all the bags was Honey Bear. The woman next to me said, "who would want that", "it's old". What's funny about this whole situation is, I wanted him, he was a treasure to be told, he was amazing, he was vintage, and not only was he cute, but I knew he was going to be worth something! My mum walked over, and I showed her Honey Bear. I knew that she would want him, I mean, we both love pretty much the same stuff. And that's who ended up buying him for only $5. But I found him, so that's why he is the treasure of the week!
Turns out, Honey Bear is worth some big bucks! When I looked him up, he was around $250- and up. Just check out here or here. Not like we would sell him, but at least we know, if we ever needed some money, he would be worth a lot. And as time goes on, maybe he will be even more! But for right now, I know he has a great home, with someone that will love him!

Honey Bear is an old cast iron bank was made by the Hubley Company in the 1930's!

Have you found any great treasures lately?

Sometimes I wish I lived in the city, so I could get all dressed up for Date Night..
One day,
I will go out on Date Night,
and wear something as gorgeous at this; like an elegant dress, with beautiful red lips, don't forget that adorable clutch, and some nude heels!
Bring on the dates!

Then again, Valentines Day is coming up,
maybe I could wear something like this, then?

or better yet this weekend!
Whether it's on  jewelry, lunch, a glass of wine, maybe even a movie..
Go for it!

I spent a little over $5 on some pretty little flowers..
and let me just say,
I've been smiling since!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend-
And remember about the 'splurging on yourself', you deserve it!

It's worth it, trust me.

Why hello Vitamix...

The other day, my mum and I were in Charleston, shopping at our favorite Whole Foods. As we were shopping, we passed this guy demonstrating The Vitamix. "There it is, the Vitamix I have been wanting", my mum said. I really didn't care about the machine, I more so, cared about looking for Dried Pineapple that was right next to the machine. After we shopped, we grabbed some Pizza (Whole Foods always has the best Pizza). But this time, it was just gooey, and ewwy! The dough wasn't cooked in the middle, and it made my mum and I sick.. so we went to return it. When we got our money back, we decided to go splurge on some Sugar Cane Cherry Cream Soda, but we splurged on a little more then that! As we were walking to the soda isle, we passed the Vitamix again. We walked over to the table, and looked at it, and looked at the brochure. This guy, named David, walked up and said he was about to make a few things with the machine.

1.Smoothie (delicious).
2. Ice Cream ( which included Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Avocado... crazy, huh? But soo good!)
3. His version of the Green Juice (minus the Grapes, that he no longer had).
4. Soup! (Yes, he made soup out of the Vitamix!)

This guy had my mum at hello pretty much. He was charming, and he was an unbelievable cook! The Vitamix was starting out at $450, but the stainless steel was $500. As we were watching him work his magic, a woman came over and grabbed the last black one. So my mum was left with Stainless, or Red. She went with the Stainless of course. It might have been pricey, but it was definitely worth it! It also came with an extra year warranty, instead of seven, she gets eight years. The next day, she tried it out, and I could hear here in the kitchen "there is no comparison", "good-bye juicer and blender", "muhahaha".. okay, she didn't do the whole "muhahaha" thing..but still, she was so happy! And that my friends means, the Vitamix was definitely worth every penny! (And she will probably have it for the rest of her life)!

Get it while it's cheap!

If you know me, you know I shop for the best deals around town!
Why buy paper for $5 or more, when you can get it at Target for only $2.50! ....Yes, I said $2.50.
Did I mention it's 9 yds x 3.33 ft (if you aren't very good at math, let me just say, you get lot's of paper!) It's recyclable, and it's made here in the USA; in good ol' Cleveland OH.
Okay, well this is the part that gets better!
You know when you walk into Target, they have a little dollar section between the restrooms, well I usually by pass that area. But this time, Christmas stuff caught my eye!
I found smaller rolls of Christmas paper and Christmas tags (you get 40 tags) for only $1!
What a deal!

Anyways, this post was meant for Saturday, but I have had too much on my plate this weekend, so I didn't have time, (I did make time for myself yesterday, I relaxed next to the pool for nearly four hours, with a great friend, and a good magazine). .. yes, a pool. It's still hot here in S.C. jealous?

Well this past Saturday was a GREAT day for going to yard sales. My mum and I left the house right at seven, who knew there were actually people already out that early! There were so many yard sales! It was a lot of fun, especially with one of the Church Bazars, they had boxes of stuff cause they didn't have enough room on the tables, my mum and I loveeeee digging through boxes! We found a lot of great stuff! (I didn't post all of it), but I did want to post the stuff that was .50 cents- $2.- Wow!
You can buy a lot for those great prices, ... don't you just love yard sales, I sure do!

Charleston Thrifting

i love thrift stores

Yesterday my mum wanted to go to Charleston, and do a little shopping. Something kept telling me to go to this one Thrift Store; the last time I was in Charleston (dropping the boyfriend off at the airport), something told me to go in the thrift store, but it said not until your with your mum. And when I say "something told me", I'm referring to my gut.. I guess it's my gut talking to me.
Anyways yesterday we were running late, we were near the Outlets which is in one direction, and the Thrift Store I wanted to go to, was in the completely opposite direction. We hit traffic.. and the time was clicking. But I wasn't in any rush, which is unusual. I just said to myself, if it's meant to be there, it will be. Well luckily we got there and had thirty minutes to look around. As we walked to the back of the store, my mum spotted these Vintage bowls that she loves, a set of three, (in Pennsylvania, each one of those bowls go for $22- and up)! She got hers all for under $7! Great deal, huh?
Well she picked her bowls up, moved a few more feet, and found an old Vintage dog, a few more feet, she found an even bigger one! She has a few in her bedroom, she likes to put her pearls all over them, they look so French! I think each one was under $2.. they are pretty cute!
I guess that feeling I got was right, it wanted my mum there so she could find her bowls and doggies!

Thank goodness it's Friday!
And I am definitely enjoying it!
I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend!

Saturday finds

As you know, every Saturday, my mum and I go to yard sales.
We haven't really found anything 'that great' in a while.. (which really really really sucks!)
But luckily today the first yard sale we went to, turned out to be the best. I usually don't like going out to yard sales that have baby stuff all over the place, I don't have a baby, and I really don't feel like looking at baby stuff until I am ready to have one, but this yard sale just happened to have one side that was all baby stuff and the other side ended up having fun stuff. Well my mum walked out to it, and she started taking awhile, which meant she found some good stuff! I then saw a woman holding a nice stainless steel pot, (which my mum just bought me the other day that cost $40), so as soon as I saw that pot, I walked out to the yard sale. I ended up finding the coolest light for only $2, I found a fleece which was a $1, I found some cute girly boxes for $1, a Pumpkin Spice candle for only .75 cents, my mum on the other hand found a whole bunch of nail polishes! They all looked pretty new, and they are are in the perfect fall colors! I didn't post all of them. Just the ones I liked. She also found some new Clinique make up, Mascara, Evian Toner Spray, Stila eyeliner.. cleanser.. and some other fun stuff for .10 cents to .25 cents! But the woman ended up giving my mum a great deal on all of it, so she got it made!

Only $4.99, what what!

That's right, these beauties were only $4.99, at Goodwill!
I was driving home from Charleston and something kept telling me to go to Goodwill, well, I passed it, ended up turning around, pulling in the parking lot, and going in. As soon as I walked in, I saw a glow coming from these boots, I hustled over, slipped them on without even looking at the size; they were the perfect fit! -And they looked pretty brandnew!
I am in love with them!
Thankfully Fall is just right around the corner...
