Out in the lowcountry...

On the way out to Edisto, SC, for Memorial Weekend, I stopped here at King's Market.
Produce Stands bring an instant smile to my face, I just love the atmosphere; the fields of flowers, fruit, veggies, stray Cats napping, Chickens and Roosters, adorable big Dogs in truck beds, the people are always friendly, the store is just laid back..
I could spend all day at a Produce Stand!

What about you, do you like Produce Stands?

I'll be eating tasty food in ...

Charleston, South Carolina, at the Bluerose Cafe'.
It's a little Irish Cafe'.
I've said this once, but I'm going to say it again, if you are ever in Charleston, you have to try this place out! It's called Bluerose Cafe', they serve homemade specials every night on the chalkboard. Their menu alone, is just amazing! I always have a craving for their Flounder, whether it's pan-seared, grilled, or baked, it is divine! My mum loves to order the Veggie Burger, with Homemade Fries that will knock your socks off!
This place has the best service, out of any restaurant I have ever been to!
Every time I took a few sips of water, the waiter would be coming around the corner filling up my glass, he asked how we were doing three times, he brought are food out in a matter of minutes, I mean this guy was awesome!
I think it's funny how, when we used to pass this place up, it would be so packed, you couldn't even getting a parking spot. But when my mum and I go, we seem to be the only people eating, there might be two-three other tables, but in the end we are the only ones! It's not weird at all, as a matter of fact, I love it! You can actually hear yourself think, or hear the other person talking.
It's such a great place to go with friends, or on a date, hey or even with your mum! If you don't like sitting inside, they have a nice front porch with huge umbrellas, and pretty flowers surrounding the tables. It's such a great place to go, it's a little treasure in Charleston!

I have always wanted to try their desert, but I always end up with a full tummy!
One of these days, I will just go in their to order a tasty treat! If their dinners are amazing, then I'm sure the desserts are, too!

Easter!

Happy Easter!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
I spent my day getting an Easter basket (with lot's of tasty treats), dying, glittering, and painting eggs with my mum and my doggie Max, I ate tons of tasty food such as Potato Salad, Asparagus, Fresh String Beans with Portabella Mushrooms, we had some type of meat (but as you know I'm a vegetarian, so I just stuck with the tasty sides).
After eating all that food, I was in a food coma, literally! All I wanted to do was pass out!
But you know what I did instead of being lazy???
I went and worked out with my mum, a long two hour work out! Hey I had to work off all that Potato Salad!
It was such a great holiday, not only was it beautiful here, but I got to spend it with people and animals I love!

How was your Easter?
What all did you do?
What all did you eat?

Nothing like a Good Friday breakfast sandwich

Wanna know how to celebrate Good Friday the right way?
Start it off with a sunny side egg, add some Turkey Bacon, some smashed Avocado with a hint if Lime, and top it off with crisp Asparagus all on a thin Everything Bagel!

Mmm mmm good!

Ingredients

1/2 pound green white and/or purple asparagus trimmed
1 avocado halved seeded peeled and chopped
1 teaspoon lime juice
2 tablespoons butter
4 eggs
8 slice white wheat or brioche bread (Or a thing Everything Bagel).
8 slice crisp-cooked bacon
Salt and pepper to taste

1. Place asparagus in a single layer in a shallow baking pan. Cover with about 2 cups of boiling water. Let stand for 10 to 12 minutes, until bright green and crisp-tender. Drain. Finely chop three of the asparagus spears; set aside.
2. In a small bowl mash avocado with lime juice. Stir in chopped asparagus; set aside.
3. In a large skillet melt butter over medium heat. Break eggs into skillet. Lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper. Reduce heat to medium-low. Cook eggs for 6 minutes, until whites are completely set and yolks begin to thicken. If desired, turn eggs, to fully cook the yolks.
4. Meanwhile, toast the bread. Spread avocado-asparagus on four slices. Lightly sprinkle with salt. Layer bacon, egg, asparagus, and remaining bread.

And there you have it!

Is that the Empire State Building I see? Hello New York!

Two weeks ago I said hello to my Great Grandma in New York..
I can't tell you how amazing it feels driving into New York, and seeing the city from across the river! I loveee it! I can hear the Sex and the City song (the one Alicia Keys and Jay-Z sings) playing as I drive over the bridges.. hello New York!
My Great Grandma who is almost 102 years old, called my mum, and told her she wanted my mum and I to come up for a week to see her, and help her out around the house. So we left Saturday night, and arrived in NY Sunday morning. The drive went by fast, only twelve hours hyped up on Monster Energy Drinks, and lots of up-beat songs! When we arrived, we saw my Great Grandma, which is always a beautiful gift! We did get to spend lots of time with her, over a week and a half. The days were long, very long. There wasn't much to do, but talk. This was my chance to get to know my Grandma, so I asked her a lot of questions! I mean hello, she's almost 102! She's lived through a lot, I mean A LOT! I love hearing all her amazing stories. My mum and I did get away, and went shopping, went to Trader Joe's (our favorite place), went to this fun Ukrainian Deli, and bought Pierogies, and tasty noodles, which we made homemade Vegetable Soup with. Of course there are five pizza places around my Grandma's house, so we got pizza, and spaghetti! On our final days there, it started getting hard. I hate seeing people who used to be strong, no longer have the strength to do things.. My Grandma needs someone there with her, at least two times a day, help her cook, and get settled into bed. It's amazing that she is living in her house, especially at the age she is, and I'm so blessed to have her still in my life! I just wish she could do things on her own, it's hard to see that.. but like she says "what are you going to do?" .
That last day we were there, we said our goodbyes, thankfully there was no crying, last time I cried my eyes out, thinking it was going to be the last time I was going to see her. But I know, that I will see her at least one more time, that is for her 102 birthday, which is in May! She is such a beautiful, strong, caring, sweet, strong willed, woman! I just hope I get some of those great qualities as I grow.
It was such a gift to see her!
I love you Great Grandma     XoXo

Ohh, don't you love those New York moments

Niagara Falls, NY.. trip recap:

Hello my beautiful bloggers!
I am so sorry that I have not been writing..
It's been weeks, hasn't it?
Well I went through a lot in these past weeks, my brother's 17th Birthday was on February 6th, so I celebrated that, I can't believe he is getting older! It makes me sad.. I wish he was still ten, and played with toy trucks, and played with bugs!
I then left for Pennsylvania, to see my boyfriend; I ended up flying in on his Birthday! What a great birthday present, huh? My Popeye (that's what I call my boyfriend cause he has really really big muscular arms) turned the big ol' 26! I landed there pretty late, so we went out to dinner, hello Olive Garden. Then back to his place to open a few small gifts I got him. The the next few days we saw friends, went bowling, went to a western/country bar that had a bull, went out to eat, watched movies, played in the snow, etc! Then it was off to Niagara Falls for Valentines Day, he surprised me with the most gorgeous ring! It was just a gift, but a beautiful one! We went to lunch at a really tasty hole-in-the-wall Pizza joint, I ordered pasta, he ordered a large pie. Then for dinner we went to TGI Fridays, which was really good! We saw the Falls on the United States side; this summer we are going to go to Canada's side! Let me just say, it is very cold! Everything was iced and snowed over, it was such a fun experience! It was one of the coolest places I've been! Note to self, if you want to see the Falls at night, go to Canada's side; you can barely see anything on the United States side. After our few days at the Falls, we ended up driving back, I loved driving through Buffalo, NY. I think it was really pretty, but that was probably because of the snow. I did like seeing all the Buffalo's on the side of the road! (There really are Buffalo's there!) The drive back was really fun. I love getting off the interstate, and driving on back roads, seeing all the old barns, gorgeous farm houses, cows in the snow, wind mills, nature. Perfect for whipping out the camera!
After I left Pennsylvania, it was time to celebrate my dad's birthday, he turned 52 years old! He's an old fart, huh? Not really, he still has a while to go! We went to Florida for the day, it went from being happy to all of a sudden throwing the GPS out the window! I guess that old age was kickin' in... oh birthday's, they are so fun!

Anyways here's some pictures from my trip to Pennsylvania, and New York!

Have you ever been to Niagara Falls?
What did you think of them?
 Which side were you on?
