Lowcountry Inshore Slam

 

So turns out, I'm back in Beaufort, spending a few weeks with the family.

 Trying to enjoy the last few weeks of this lovely warm weather.

Being out on the river is something that I need, I long for, I have saltwater in my blood... being away from it really hurts, it's just depressing.

So being here, right now, is just reviving me!

Since I've been here, I have gone out on the river, swimming on private beaches, fishing inshore, fishing the channels..  I love fishing. The one fish I have yet caught, is a southern favorite, it's known as the Red Fish, Red Drum, or Spot Tail Bass. My brother has taken me out a handful of times, but I never seem to catch that fish. But today I finally hooked my first one! It was small, but it meant so much, size doesn't matter in this case! After releasing it, a few minutes later I hooked up with this big beauty below! It was gorgeous! I couldn't believe my eyes when I hooked it! It was fun reeling it in! When I got it on the platform of the boat, I was all smiles! The feeling of catching a Red Fish is like no other, the adrenaline is crazy, you just don't want to stop hooking them. Releasing that beauty, was one of the best feelings, I hope that others will have the same experience as I did. I also caught a little Flounder. All I needed to hook was a Trout, and it would have been an inshore slam all in one day!

My brother on the other hand hooked a good size Trout, it was slightly purple, with tons of spots, such a beautiful fish.

Today was such an amazing day, I am so grateful to have caught these fish, spend time with my brother, be out on the saltwater, and watch the Carolina sun set.

Time to refresh!

That's right,

 it's time to do a little cleaning!

I guess I consider this my 'spring cleaning' time.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I finally went through all my drawers, and closets, and whatever I haven't worn in over 6-8 months, is going! And if I can't fit in it, it's going; for instance, I will never ever be able to fit in a size 0-2 skirt again, ha! So if your that skinny, lucky you! There were also some other skirts and dresses I love looking at, but I only wore them a handful of times, so I need to give them to girls that will love them! 

It feels so good to just get rid of stuff- I feel clutter-free, stress less, rejuvenated! 

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I feel better, it feels so good to not have much, and to be organized.  

And hey, I think of it as "get rid of the old, and something new will come".

For my birthday I told my parents I wanted to go to Asheville NC, and see the leaves change.

 So my mum and I ended up doing that and had such a great time!

 Then when I got back home, I left to go to PA, and had a surprise party thrown for my birthday (super fun!)

 So on my actual Birthday, I wasn't expecting anything.

I did go Black Friday Shopping, (ugh yeah, remind me never to do that again..) Target was CRAZY! And the mall wasn't any better. I did find a pot that was on sale for $14.99 at Macy's, so my mum bought that for me as a birthday gift, along with Tommy Hilfiger pillows, earrings, and a Zebra Bra that was on sale for only $5 at H&M!

After shopping, we went back to my Aunt's house around 6 in the morning, I chose to sleep in until 12 (hey it is my birthday!) When I finally got out of bed, my aunt took my mum and I out for some Chinese. Then we went back to her place, I took a nap (hey, once again, it is my birthday!) When I woke up, my mum and I ended up getting the car packed and headed out. We did stop at the mall again, and did a little shopping. Then we went to Cracker Barrel, I was craving Pancakes with Peaches and Whip Cream! But the Cracker Barrel we went to was out of not only Peaches, but every other topping as well! -Damnitttttt!

So we ended up driving to Daytona, which was on the way home, so it was no biggie. Thankfully they had Peaches! And I got a free desert of my choice. I picked the Black Berry Custard with Vanilla Ice Cream. It was tasty! And it was the perfect way to end my birthday! Thanks Mum!

Then we took the long 5 hour drive back home..

But the next day my friends wanted to go out to Gilliagan's (they had all you can eat Oysters for $10). So I grabbed my brother, and headed there to meet up with everyone.

We had a great time chowing down on Oysters, and eating Hush Puppies!

After Gilligan's, I went back to my house, and sung happy birthday, and opened up gifts.

Then it was back out again with my bestie, Meghan!

Thank you everyone that made my birthday fun!

And thank you mum for the Cake, and the beautifully wrapped gifts, your the BEST!

Let's indulge shall we

Why is when your trying to loose weight, unhealthy food, bad food, fattening food, somehow appears in the kitchen? I have only been eating fruit and veggies, the only bad food I have eaten is .. 1. Two handfuls of Candy Corn, 2. A bowl of Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal (at 10pm! eeek! Tv food binge time), and 3. A handful of Jalapeno Sun Chips driving home one night, didn't eat dinner, so I ate chips instead. Other then that, I have been good...

Until...

Yesterday, I went with my mum to run some errands, we went grocery shopping, she bought the guys chips, and my brother ice cream (but for some reason, I wont go after ice cream anymore). Even the chips I'm like ehh, I'll stay healthy an eat a juicy Apple instead. But on the way home, she was like "let's get some ice creams at Dairy Queen!" ... Nah mum, "yes yes yes!" she replied.. " okay fine let's do it", I said! .. so we both got medium size ice creams, hers was dipped in chocolate, mine was covered in sprinkles. I decided to take pictures to show you all just how big, beautiful, tasty, and fattening this ice cream was, until I noticed something on my hand, it was my ice cream dripping away thanks to this 90 degree weather! Let's just say, I have never licked anything that fast! (Okay did that sound perverted or ... yeah). It was really really really good! Sometimes, you just have to indulge don't you? You can't always deprive yourself..

So thanks mum for that huge Ice Cream Cone!

....not good as all.

Anyways, I've been trying nearly everything, and nothing seemed to work.

I am very grateful..

As I was lying in bed lastnight a thought came across..

'man, I am so grateful to have all that I have'.

After thinking about it, I named ten things I am grateful for, wanna know what they are?

Well for starters:

1).I'm grateful to have a bed to sleep in every night (it breaks my heart to think that there are people out there, that will not ever sleep in a bed, or some people don't even know what a 'bed' is.. that's just so sad).

2).I have the most wonderfulest family, my parents have always been there for me, they have never doubted me, they have always listened to what I had to say, and they love me for me. I have the best brother anyone could ask for! I am soo close to him. I thank god everyday for us being so close, being able to talk, and hug each other every night before we go to bed.. a lot of siblings hate each other, I could NEVER hate my brother!

3).I have the best pet's anyone could ask for, I have the cutest pup; Max, I have the smartest Guinea Pig; Chloe' Cupcake Monster, I have the sweetesssst Rooster and Hen; Lulu & Babi, and two cats with totally different personalities; Bianca & Feebee.

4).I have great friends. It has taken awhile to find the ones I have. I have always been known to have lots of friends, (I'm a great friend in re-turn), but it was always hard to find the ones that wouldn't stab you in a heart beat, or talk about you behind your back. The people that are true friends will love you no matter what you say, or do, as long as you don't hurt them. (And everyone has a right to their own opinion, always keep that in mind). 

5).I have a beautiful body, I always 'hated' certain parts on my body, such as my boobs (they are small), my scars on my legs, acne on my face, etc... but I have realized, I don't need boobs to be beautiful, I at least have legs that I can walk with, and I am soo happy to have a face that isn't burned, or messed up. I have a beautiful body, it might not be perfect to others, but it's perfect to me.

6). I don't know what I would do without my Sex and the City! I watch it every night before I go to bed, I always get people addicted to it, such as ex boyfriend, my girl friends, my brother's girlfriend. I just love watching all my favorite women on tv! They are all so gorgeous, and super funny.. I can relate to all of them, and they never let me down!

7). I am grateful for having a roof over my head. I pray for the people in Japan every night, and other people as well who don't have a place to call 'home'. Everyone needs that special place.

8).Boys, men, guys.. what would we do without them? We fall in love with them, we hate them, we find them sexy, we find them disgusting.. I am so grateful to have men! Favorite quote 'God made man, then realized he could do better, and made woman'.

9). I am grateful for food, I don't know what I would do without some tasty Strawberries, Mango, Kiwi's, Pickles, Soup, Bread, Spaghetti, Sushi, Couscous, Wild Rice, Fish, Chocolate, and soo much more!

10). I'm grateful to be me. I live such a beautiful life!

After 21 years, I finally got my ears pierced! I can't believe it! Yesterday, my mum wanted to take a ride to Bluffton, to Tanger Outlets, well I went into Banana Republic, fell in love with multiple skirts, and tops.. looked around, and realized all the lovely younger women were dressed so well! They were all perfectly tanned, gorgeous hair, great clothes..blah blah blah. I looked in the mirror, EWW.. me: no make-up, hadn't taken a shower that day, (we went right after I got back from work..), and I was wearing plain white shorts, and a long sleeve Clemson t-shirt. Wow, I looked like I just got pulled out of a drain...

So there I was, not wanting to shop, cause I looked hideous. I told my mum, she laughed, said 'everyone is on spring break..', well as we walked past Claires, I said, 'we should go get my ears pierced, let's get it over with'. My mum, looked at me, and laughed, then she said 'really?' Then before I could say anything she said, 'yup, we're going go to get them pierced'. So I go in there, thankfully the woman was coming to her third year of piercing ears, good thing! Right when I agreed to do it, (to make my day worse), she said she needed to see my mum's ID! ..Ugh hello, I'm 21, thanksss. So there I was sitting in the hot seat, squeezing a teddy bear, she said I looked like I was about to cry.. no, I just looked bad, it what I wanted to tell her. But less then five mins, I had my ears pierced! It didn't even hurt! I was soo proud of myself, I finally did it!
But on a lighter note, i'll finally be wearing gorgeous earings, and stealing my mum's Tracy Porter earings!

Here's my seven things :)

 

1. I am addicted to Country Music, it all happened when I heard International Harvester by Craig Morgan, I just fell in love with it. Then I heard Big Green Tractor by Jason Aldean, and that was it, I became a huge country girl! Now that's pretty much all I listen to.. it just puts me in a great mood!

 

2. I put lotion on at night and then put gloves on, I have a huge fear of aging hands! ---Right now they are scaring me as I type, they are all dry, ew..

 

3. I want to someday open a restaurant, I love people, I love food, and I love drinking. I want to open a small place with maybe twenty five tables, with a bar, and a little corner where someone can come play tropical music while everyone eats. I want to serve seafood, and maybe chicken. But lots of salads, sandwhiches, and locally grown vegetables. I would like it to be somewhere on the coast, close to a river, where people can pull their boats up. (Okay, I'm dreaming now.. ). I just want a relaxed place, where everyone comes, and meets up with friends after work, or being out on the river all day. And I want to be open only a few days out of the week, just so people crave my good home cookin' food! I can't wait!

 

4. Summer is my favorite time of the year! I just love being out in the river, with friends, and a big ol' Watermelon! I love having the sun on my skin, along with SPF. The less clothes are the best clothes, a pair of white shorts, a cute silky tank-top, and sandals are all I need. It's one of the best times to have a camera, the sunsets are amazing on the water! And where I live, during the summer is just fun! We have sandbars, pools, beaches, festivities downtown.. ah, I am counting down the days!

 

5. I paint, that's right, thanks to my pop, I can paint walls, houses, trim, furniture, and so on! He is in contruction, so not only can I paint, I can do other 'manly' things like put up fans, lay down tile, put up walls, etc.. people never believe me when I tell them, but I caaaaan! I am so thankful to have a father that taught me how to do this, it's hard, but hey, atleast I don't have to depend on other people to come do it for me!

 

6. I don't watch tv, but I do loveee me some Bachelor! I don't know why, but everytime I hear it's coming on, I get over excited, and now I have my mum acting the same way! I know the show is kinda silly, and soo fake.. but there's something about it that I like, maybe it's all the girls, or the different locations they get to travel to, who knows. I just wish next Monday would hurry up, I can't wait for the next show!

 

7. I have never EVER had my ears pierced! I usually wear clip-ons, if I can find some that will acutally stay clipped to my ear, but that's really hard to find. My mum has gorgeous earings from Tracy Porter, and I can't wait any longer to wear them, so I'm thinking about getting them pierced soon, like within the month. I am kinda nervous, but just think, I will be able to wear earings, finally!

Let me get some blue with that orange..

I haven't done a fashion post in nearly forever! (Cause it's been quite cold out, can I use that as an excuse?)

Well, since I can't go outside to do one, why not do one inside the room I'm painting..

These 'clothes' are not just an ordinary clothes, they are actually lingerie, I'm wearing a long grayish-blue skirt slip, with a negligee' over it, and I'm using a see-through robe as a cover up. I also used a vintage pearl pin to add a bit of flow to it. - You can't really tell by these pictures, but it's very romantic looking. Who says you can't wear lingerie on the outside? I can't wait to go out in it! (Of course I might add some black or gray stockings since it's cold out.)

Now, when I did this little shoot right below, it was breakfast time.. so I had to post my bowl of Oatmeal with thrown-in Blue Berries, and my little bowl of Oranges and Berries.. so tasty! The perfect way to start the morning!

1. I was named after two soap operas, first name was from The Bold and The Beautiful (Kristen) and the middle name was from The Young Restless (Ashley). I guess she really liked those actresses!

2. I have to have green 'frozen' peas in my Macaroni & Cheese.. or I will not eat it! I know it sounds odd, but I just really don't like all that cheesy-ness, so the peas kinda make it less cheesier!

3. I collect postcards from everywhere I go, and I tell all my friends to get me postcards from where ever they go as well, I have over 150 postcards, but I still don't have all '50' states, which I will one day get, all by myself!

4. I love love love animals! I would rather be around a dog or cat, rather then a human, animals just seem more intelligent, and they don't argue with you, they instead, want to be loved, or they want their space. I love that. -Ha. I am also a vegetarian just because I love animals soo much! I do eat fish, which I feel horrible about, and I would really like to stop, but as of right now, I can't get enough of Flounder.. (your so bad.. that's me talking to myself.)

5. I do not like people that SMOKE! I really wish those people who do smoke, would swollow a cigarette, and like die.. okay, not die, but just realize that they aren't good for you at all! Why do it? I think they smell horrible, they obviously don't taste good, they kill you.. and did I mention I get migraines from them? Yeah, I do. So if your near me, please back away, or you'll see the nicest person turn into the Devil! - moving on..

6. I am addicted to Sex and They City, I seriously watch an episode or two a day. I never get bored of it, ever! My favorite girl is Samantha, but I kind of have to relate to each one of the girls in some way. I love the show, and the movies, even if the second movie was kinda out-of-whack. Hearing SATC just makes me smile! ..(and I love that they are older women, older women are sexy, I can't wait to be in my 30's and rock some heels!)

7. I love vintage Christmas Bulb Ornaments! I thank my mum for this! She has a bajillion of them, and last year I started collecting them like crazy! I went toThrift Stores, Yard sales, and even Flea markets to find them, and let me just say, my collection will blow you away, it's fabulous! I am still insearch for some old green ones. Which I will surely find soon, with Christmas coming up soon!
