"cause i've got friends in low places, where the whiskey drowns & the beer chases my blues away"- Garth Brooks

Let's talk friends..
I have always been the kind of girl that has always wanted 'girls night' or just wanted to go 'out with the girls', but I never really got that, yeah I had friends, lots of them, but not 'true' friends.. I would watch Sex and the City religiously, and just think.. "that's what I want, girls I can talk to, and have fun on the weekends with". Well I have to say, I think I have found my Sex and the City girls! It has taken twenty-one years to find them, but the good thing is, I have my whole life to be with them! My mum always said I wouldn't find them until after high school, she said I needed to do something I love doing, and that's where they would show up, and she was right!
I found Amy by taking a photography class last fall. She and I instantly clicked! We have soo much in common, it's crazy, she's such a gogeous person, and she has such a caring heart, she is the one girl I can talk to about anything with and she knows exactly the right things to say. I fell in love with her fassssst! I know she is a true friend, and a life long one!
Next is Jessica, I have always known who she was, we would always say our hi's, and we were always friendly, but recently we have just bonded. She is hilarious, she is one sarcastic sweetheart, who will say whatever, whenever she wants, she knows how to have fun, and she's one of my best 'new' drinking partners. She is also the sister of the guy i'm now dating. I would love to think of her as a sister-in-law, and we might joke around, but I do believe we are close, maybe even closer then me and her brother are.. I'm so glad she has come into my life. She knows how to have some funnnn, and I need that!
Then there is Kelsey, we have known eachother since we were like four years old! But we just recently started talking again..(neither one of us even knew that we used to be friends in Day Care, until my dad said something about her last name a few months ago).. that opened a lot of doors for me! That is a true life long friend. She is such a kind person, and she too, is fun. She is another bar-hopper, and I always have a great time with her! She is going through a really hard time in her life right now with her family, and she knows i'm there, that's what friends are for!

I'm so thankful I finally found some really great girls! We go out every Thursday night for dinner, and we talk for hours, about the funniest, craziest, sweetest, things. It's a seriously great time, and I look forward to it every week. I need my girl time! Don't all girls..

But the one true bestest friend ever is ....
.... my mum!
She is alwayssss there for me, and always will be. When I need someone to talk to, she is right there, ears wide open. If I get locked out of the house, guess who I can count on to unlock the door at four in the morning, yup, my mum. She is the sweetest woman I know, she cares about everyone! But if you dare say something about her fmaily or friends, she'll beat your ass! Heh. I love you Mum!

XoXo

Do you have any best friends?
What makes them so great?

Oh this is such a sweet post. So happy you've found your girls! :) I've got a few good girlfriends who unfortunately live across the country from me!

What a nice post! I totally agree - I've always seemed to have more guy friends than girl friends - they're so much less catty and drama-free, etc, etc, but I've craved the girls nights you talk about! Luckily in college I am getting to know a great group of three other girls and know it was worth the wait - which it sounds like you found out too! :)

p.s. we definitely should be best buds because I am also the only mac'n'cheese'n'peas person I know. When I make it with my sisters or boyfriend or whoever I always have to add peas to just my portion so I don't "contaminate" theirs!
