So our kitchen is really white, the walls, the ceiling (that's still being done), the cabinets, and the doors. So I thought hey, let's do something a little different and fun! Let's add a chalkboard! I went to Lowes and picked up a little thing of paint -It's under $15.00- came home, took a long board and placed it up against the door, took a pencil and marked the length and width I wanted it, taped it out, and began painting! Max did nothing but sit there and watch.. useless pup, at least he's cute. Later on I realized I needed chalk so I went to K-Mart (haven't been there in nearly a decade), found sidewalk chalk on sale and grabbed it, went home and drew one of my favorite sayings, and ta da! It's done, and it looks great!
So what do you think about chalkboards?

OMG!!!!
I LOVE this Kristen. It's so creative and so unique. Goodness girl, you keep inspiring me to do more creative things. Thank you :)
Although, I'll probably have to wait to not be in an apartment for this one ;)
That is such a cute idea. I wish I had more wall space in my kitchen for something like that.
Great for a kid's room. They love to write on the walls!
Woah! I love love love it! :)
It definitely helps the whole room! I like the chalk board idea personally, it seems fun and nice!

The thing I love about this the most is that it's on the door.. what a brilliant idea!! I might have to do this.. you could do it on the inside of the bathroom door and then people who have REALLY long arms could doodle while they do their business... now why would I say that? oh I am weird.. its mainly because the only door that I could do this project on at my house is the bathroom door and then I had that thought.. so you just got a bit of ' jodi unplugged' hah hah..
seriously, I really like the idea!!

Oh my goodness this is seriously the coolest thing ever! I had no idea that "paint" even existed! And so much cheaper than going and buying one! Thanks for sharing, I'm going to have to try this sometime!
My boyfriend's kitchen is white too, I think white makes the whole place look a lot bigger than it actually is. Adding a chalkboard there is such a cute idea. Sending you some positive vibes and smiles from across the web. Have a happy weekend sweetie
