The Great Jack-o-lantern Blaze

This past weekend, the boyfriend and I went to the little town of Sleepy Hollow, NY.
I wanted to treat him, and myself, to the Great Jack O' Lantern Blaze.
When we got there,
they had this huge tent up, with hanging pumpkin lanterns, and spider web lighting, it had treats such as Candy Apples, Caramel Pop Corn, Pumpkin Spice, Apple Cider, etc.

As you walk in the event, there are people everywhere taking pictures, no one is moving, so you are stuck waiting to see the pumpkins.
Once we actually got a spot, it was unbelievable...
I've never seen anything like it.
So much talent!

It was stop-n-go through out the whole walk.
My favorite scenes were the grave yard, the spider web with spider pumpkins, the dinosaurs, and the fish.
At the end they had another tent you could walk through, and see art.
There were some interesting pieces, people are quite creative.
The Headless Horseman of Lego's was selling for $8,500!
I'm going to save you the crowds of people and show you some pictures I was able to take.
I hope you enjoy.
I do recommend you going and seeing it in person, if you do happen to go, pay for the VIP, it would be well worth it!

Lowcountry Inshore Slam

So turns out, I'm back in Beaufort, spending a few weeks with the family.
Trying to enjoy the last few weeks of this lovely warm weather.
Being out on the river is something that I need, I long for, I have saltwater in my blood... being away from it really hurts, it's just depressing.
So being here, right now, is just reviving me!
Since I've been here, I have gone out on the river, swimming on private beaches, fishing inshore, fishing the channels..  I love fishing. The one fish I have yet caught, is a southern favorite, it's known as the Red Fish, Red Drum, or Spot Tail Bass. My brother has taken me out a handful of times, but I never seem to catch that fish. But today I finally hooked my first one! It was small, but it meant so much, size doesn't matter in this case! After releasing it, a few minutes later I hooked up with this big beauty below! It was gorgeous! I couldn't believe my eyes when I hooked it! It was fun reeling it in! When I got it on the platform of the boat, I was all smiles! The feeling of catching a Red Fish is like no other, the adrenaline is crazy, you just don't want to stop hooking them. Releasing that beauty, was one of the best feelings, I hope that others will have the same experience as I did. I also caught a little Flounder. All I needed to hook was a Trout, and it would have been an inshore slam all in one day!
My brother on the other hand hooked a good size Trout, it was slightly purple, with tons of spots, such a beautiful fish.
Today was such an amazing day, I am so grateful to have caught these fish, spend time with my brother, be out on the saltwater, and watch the Carolina sun set.

Sunday Funday

Over the weekend, my boyfriend, my dog, and I decided to get out and enjoy this amazing weather we've been having here in Pennsylvania. We got on the road and headed towards Ricketts Glen State Park. It's a gorgeous park with lots to do; you can hike, swim, fish, relax, bike ride, have a picnic, do whatever, it's just a really nice park. But it does get packed in the summer, so the best thing to do to avoid people is go on the long hike, I'm talking a 7.5 mile if not more, hike! This hike is beautiful, there are 22 waterfalls. There aren't many people on the hike just because it takes a lot of body and skill to complete the whole thing, one second your walking down slippery stone steps, the next your climbing up big rocks... let me just say, I busted my ass, along with the dog. It was nice, every few steps we'd stop and let Max play in the stream pools, I got my feet wet, but it was chilly! There were quite a few dogs on the hike, some were little dogs being carried by their owners that looked as if they were going to pass out... like I said, it's a long, hard, skilled hike, please don't attempt the whole thing if you are not in shape! It's a great hike, just make sure if your going on a hike longer then 2 and half hours, bring an Apple, or some Almonds to keep ya going, water is a must, too!
It always feels great to get out on the weekends!

Work, work all day long..

When we bought our house, it wasn't in the most perfect shape, especially the outside. It was snowing so there wasn't much we could do, which gave us some time to save up some money.
We took out an old garden, picked up concrete, and columns that were stuck in the ground where an above ground pool was, we were given some Tiger Lilly's and Rose bushes thanks to the neighbors, Corey planted grass, and now we are finally working on the driveway!
It's day number three, the rock comes this morning, so it will all be done by today. My boyfriend is such a hard worker, not only did he go to work, but he came home and still worked his butt of until the sun went down just to get this project done. I cannot wait to see the finished driveway. One major project done, only 500 more to go!

What projects are you working on?

Hello State Park

As I was coming back home from the 100 Mile Yard Sale in Pennsylvania, which was such a waste of not only gas, but a waste of time... it was more like trash then treasure. I recommend you don't go, ever.
Anyways, I was a little mad that I wasted all that time and money to drive two hours out of my way to go, so as I was coming home, I decided to make it up, and stop at this beautiful State Park.
Bald Eagle State Park is such a pretty place, it's a huge lake, with tons of boat launches, a marina, a beach, a really nice nature inn that overlooks the lake, cabins, camping, hiking.. there is just so much to do there.
I sat back on a quiet dock, and just took it all in for a few hours, watching everyone fishing, canoeing, swimming..
Being in nature just makes everything better.

Gettin' a little mud on the tires

It's about time we get a little mud on the tires.
The boyfriend and I went trail riding with two other couples, my boyfriend drives a nice Ford F150 (which is behind us in the picture), the other guy drives a nice Chevy Silverado, then you have the redneck kid in his Overalls, in his older crappy looking, off-road Toyota which is what your supposed to have when you go on trails, and mudding, in case you mess it up, it's not a big deal.
When we got on the trail, we were only supposed to stay on the trail, my boyfriend kept saying, I haven't done anything with this truck, I don't want to screw it up, . . . . and then he saw the redneck go up a hill, and through the mud pit, and there my boyfriend went, following the redneck, and then the other guy with the Chevy went and drove over the hill and through the mud pit..
Guys will always be guys, and they will always be competitive with each other.
They all did it, and it was a lot of fun.
And then the redneck got stuck in his Toyota out near a lake, and my boyfriend had to pull him out, and that pretty much ended the night.
It was a lot of fun acting young, and reckless, just having a good ol' time in the mountains of Pennsylvania!

Pretty find of the day..

See these lovelies below?
I bought seven of them for only $1
Oh how I love a good deal...

Glass drawer pulls go with anything and everything.
I love how you can make a single piece of furniture romantic just by adding a glass drawer pull. Or you can add them to an old rustic kitchen for an instant pick me up. You can even leave them on a tray as a display, maybe with some pretty flowers.
I'm going to add my drawer pulls to a built in cabinet in my bathroom, I cannot wait to see how they are going to look!
How do you feel about glass drawer pulls?
